[katherine was just leaving the kitchen and heading on her way back to her room when suddenly before she can react, someone who was definitely in a rush just bumps right into her] Whoa, hey. Be more careful where you're going—

[she was about to leave it that but instead she adds on concern about the other girl despite how little she really cares]You're okay, right?

[okay. Just get to the room, just get to the room, get to the...

aw crud she slammed right into someone....]

....oww... aw, geez, I’m sorry.

[she grimaces, looking... well, she’s been upset since the voting results, but she looks both upset and apologetic]

Can’t do anything right today, I guess...

[delusive]

It's okay— don't worry about it. [her expression softens just slightly at that before she continues] I'm sure you're being a bit too hard on yourself there. [she pauses to extend her hand to help the other girl]

Need a hand getting up?

Nah, it’s fine, I trip a lot. Let me just-

[she pulls herself back up stylishly!]

...heh! There we go!

Ah— well I'm glad you're able to get back on your feet.

Where you off to in such a rush?

Ah... well... just my room. I just kind of... wanted to get there. You know. Because.

[delusive]

Yeah, I know what you mean. That whole trial was definitely a lot with how things went down.

[thejusticewagon]

Yeah... I didn't really know what to do about literally anything when it came to voting, so... that was hard.

[delusive]

Yeah, no kidding— no wonder the results ended up being such a mess. I think most of us weren't sure how to vote either.

[thejusticewagon]

Yeah... I feel really bad about the whole thing, you know? Really, really bad.

[delusive]

About how the votes ended up?

[thejusticewagon]

Yeah. I mean, I'm upset we got someone not guilty... but I was also really upset to see my cousin could've been killed, you know?

[delusive]

Your cousin?

[thejusticewagon]

Oh! Yeah, I forgot to mention, but Owain's my cousin.

[delusive]

He's— oh, no wonder you were distressed about the vote then. [since she remembers he was also caught up in the tie vote too]

[thejusticewagon]

Yeah... I mean, it would've been way better if we just got whoever did it and didn't have to worry about something like that.

[delusive]

Yeah, no kidding. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way and we still don't know who was actually responsible.

[thejusticewagon]

Yeah, it's true... I'm no good at figuring that kind of thing out, though.

[delusive]

Well the most we can do is hope we'll do better to avoid that next time.

[thejusticewagon]

Yeah... I guess I'll just have to try and get better at that.

WEEK 3, POST-INVESTIGATION

[so. okay. Cynthia has gotten a slightly better idea of what vampires are actually supposed to be like given the manga she's borrowed from Tsumugi, so hey! She might as well ask Katherine about it, in case any of her vampire abilities will be useful in the trial. So, she'll track her down in the hallways... and ah!]

Hey! Hey, Katherine, I have a question!

[delusive]

Hm? [she was just heading back through the halls to her room when she hears cynthia call out to her] Oh hey Cynthia! What did you want to ask me?

[thejusticewagon]

Um, do you mind answering a question about vampires? Because we don't really have that stuff where I'm from, and I'm kind of wondering based on some stuff I read... can you, like, shoot superheated water out of your eyes?

[delusive]

[katherine just shrugs at that] I don't mind. I wouldn't rule out not having any where you're from though because we tend to keep it a secret.

I can tell you thought that stereotype is completely wrong.

[thejusticewagon]

Ohhh... that's a little disappointing. You can't control your hair, either...?

[delusive]

What about my hair?

[thejusticewagon]

You can't control it like weird tentacles, right?

[delusive]

Yeah, that's definitely not a thing I can do either.

[thejusticewagon]

I'm kind of glad, but I'm also kind of disappointed...

[delusive]

That I don't have either of those abilities?

[thejusticewagon]

Well, yeah. In the hands of someone interested in justice, it'd be really cool, I think!

[delusive]

[cynthia what even...]

These stereotypes just keep getting weirder but unfortunately they aren't part of being a vampire.

It just means being immortal and having enhanced senses, strength, speed, agility and durability compared to a human.

Well, I guess you can't believe everything you read in manga. But that does sound pretty good anyway!

[delusive]

Yeah they tend to make up things a lot since people assume anyway that vampires are fictional.

[thejusticewagon]

...Yeah, I guess I can see that. I have a few friends who aren't really part of common groups, so...

[delusive]

Not part of common groups? What do you mean?

[thejusticewagon]

Oh, well, they're only part human. Like, one of my friends is a Manakete, which means she can turn into a dragon and she ages really slowly, and my other friend is a Taguel, which means he's part bunny and he can turn into a giant bunny if he wants.

[delusive]

Part human? I guess I've never run into people like that where I'm from who are part dragon or part bunny.

Well, like I said, they're not super common... so they might exist! But you just haven't met anyone like that.

[delusive]

Yeah, probably— kind of like most people don't know vampires exist and have met them before.

[thejusticewagon]

Well, I wouldn't be able to tell you were a vampire if you didn't tell me. With Nah and Yarne they're kinda obviously different from humans, since Nah has pointy ears and Yarne has big ol' bunny ears.

[delusive]

So they don't keep that a secret from anyone who is human?

[thejusticewagon]

Well, I don't really think they can... Yarne probably would if he could just because he's afraid of people hunting him down.

[delusive]

That's because there are people who would most likely do that just like they do for vampires.

[thejusticewagon]

Oh, well, I do know that... Yarne's species is pretty much extinct because of that. I think he and his mom are the last ones.
